 ‘Planning a History Curriculum to ensure Continuity and Progression EYFS – Year 6’

We are delighted to welcome David Weatherly back to work with us again in 2018

Aim:

This day will focus on the key issue of improving pupil outcomes in History through building a rigorous curriculum with both continuity and progression.  The programme will be practical and interactive. During the day colleagues will review and then take away a number of fully documented and resourced enquiries written to the National Curriculum.  These can be trialled with pupils and also used as models of good practice in their leadership of History in school.

Key Objectives: all colleagues will leave:

  • Knowing what it means for pupils to make progress in History EYFS-Year 6;
  • Understanding how to design enquiries which focus on achieving steadily more challenging subject outcomes;
  • Having trialled and evaluated a number of historical enquiries EYFS – Year 6 which exemplify progression;
  • Confident to lead colleagues in improving provision and outcomes in History in their schools.
