computing leads as well as more experienced colleagues.
YOU WILL:
Understand the Computing programme of study including key vocabulary, what it means and how to teach it at KS1 & KS2
Consider how to prepare for an Ofsted deep dive into Computing –understanding progression, collecting and sharing evidence, assessment, evaluating Teaching & Learning in computing, planning for success
Discuss different ways to organise the computing curriculum in primary schools
Know how to take staff with you when developing the computing curriculum and how to access a range of CPD for developing subject knowledge and skills
Share ideas on curriculum resources (hardware and software) including what’s good to buy,
what is available for free and how to make the most of what you have.

KS1 & KS2 teachers – no experience necessary. This is a fun and unusual approach to teaching key computer science concepts. Come prepared to get involved in some hands-on activities without touching computer! Suitable for both the experienced computing lead and the technologically terrified!
YOU WILL:
- Know how to teach computer science concepts such as algorithms, decomposition and debugging, bitmaps, binary and coding away from the computer
- Learn what is actually going on inside a computer (it is not magic!) and be better able to explain these concepts to pupils and colleagues
- Discover how to turn defunct computer hardware into useful teaching aids
